GILPLANTE

A simple line, a composition, and the impetus is given… then the technique takes over enhances the image.
Gil Plante is not a photographer in the traditional sense of the word.
His technique is rather like that of a painter.
He masters his camera’s variables the way a painter chooses a specific brush to determine the breadth and power of a brushstroke. This original creative approach is about much more than merely taking a picture, it is about composing an image.
I quiet like the idea that my camera, at the moment of the click, captures my work to projects it into another dimension. Then the machine takes over and I know that at that moment my work does not belong to me anymore...
I’d also like to make clear that my work is not retouched in any way.
I have no interest in devices of that sort !
